Parents Devotion Week 7 - Raising team-First Athletes
Share
Theme - Raising Team-First Athletes
Opening Reflection
Youth sports can easily become individual-focused—stats, rankings, comparisons. But the most impactful lesson sports can teach is teamwork.
Scripture
📖 “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1
Devotional Message
Parents shape how children view their role on a team. When conversations at home center on “Did you score?” or “How much did you play?” comparison grows. When conversations center on effort, teamwork, and encouragement, unity grows.
This week, reinforce the value of being a great teammate. Celebrate hustle, positive attitude, and support for others. Teach your child that leadership isn’t always about being the star—it’s about strengthening the group.
Unity builds confidence that lasts beyond sports.
