Parents Devotion Week 1

Week 1 Theme: New Year, Intentional Direction
Opening Reflection:
A new year brings hope and possibility—not just for your child, but for your family. As parents, the goals we set and the priorities we model shape how our children view success, effort, and faith.
Scripture:
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
Devotional Message:
It’s easy to focus on outcomes—wins, playing time, or scholarships—but lasting growth comes from character and consistency. When parents help children set healthy, God-honoring goals, they learn how to work hard without losing perspective.
This year, focus on goals that encourage effort, accountability, and resilience. Celebrate progress, not just performance. When children see parents who value growth, humility, and faith over results, they gain confidence and balance that carries into every area of life.
Reflection Questions:
• What values do I want my child to grow in this year?
• How can I support effort instead of pressure?
• What example am I setting through my own goals?
Parent Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of a new year. Help me guide my child with wisdom, patience, and encouragement. Let our family goals be rooted in faith, effort, and growth, trusting You with the results. Amen.
